The need and willingness to change motivates decision-makers and practitioners in the UK to take decisive integrationoriented measures. The country has never succeeded in developing its own original policy in this area. The first steps were taken in 2004 with the publication of the Indicators of Integration, but it was onlyin recent years that work on integration management has been intensified.
